Peekamoose Restaurant and Tap Room
Marybeth Mills—Co-owner of The Peekamoose with husband Devin—inspects local herbs used in their epicurean delights as she loves being located “closer to the source of ingredients and the talented growers and artisans in our area.”
An extremely community-minded couple, the Mills have worked with the most talented chefs in the industry at some of the finest restaurants in New York City, including the famed Gramercy Tavern. Feeling fortunate for that experience they brought the same nurturing, disciplined and focused culinary expertise to the Hudson Valley. Said Marybeth, “Our menu changes often with whatever is being pulled out of the ground. Even our meats are fabricated on site.” She said the hard-working family run farms are the reason they moved back to where Devin grew up—“the passion for what they do shows through in our ingredients. They really make us look good.”
And their guests benefit by enjoying the local food system that offers them a dining experience sourced with integrity and the highest nutritional value possible—and the money then stays within the community. Their loyal customers are family to the Mills, who believe being part of the community is extremely important. They often sponsor fundraisers and participate in local events.
“We’re so lucky to have people in our lives who walk through our doors and say they feel like they’re ‘coming home’—we’re grateful to call them friends.”
The Peekamoose has been acclaimed in magazines such as Newsweek, Travel and Leisure, House Beautiful, and many other nationals—plus Hudson Valley’s own Edible Hudson Valley, Ulster County Table, and Green Door.
